At Village we have designed a system to ensure you get seen by the right person when you need to.
There are different clinics and appointment types for different problems and we ask patients to read the information below to ensure you get the best experience and the most speedy appointment.
New Problems or Problems that have got worse – eConsult
If you have a medical problem that is new or has got worse, then we advise all our patient to use our online Econsult service. This is the quickest way to contact us or via our online form, we aim to get back to all Econsults within 48hours. Or you can call our Patient Services Team via 8am-11am to make an appointment. All our appointments must be triaged first via the duty doctor who will arrange a routine or same day face to face appointment if required. All our patients care is important to us but we must priorities urgent cases first to allow us to manage the list fairly.
For minor illnesses such as coughs, colds, cystitis, please attend the local pharmacies where they will be happy to help you. Pharmacies are much more equipped to help with minor illness and often have a better knowledge of ‘over the counter’ products which will help you feel better more quickly. If you are concerned about the cost then please ask a pharmacist regarding the minor ailments scheme and you can access free medication if you are entitled.
Please be aware that due to the rota system we use, we are unable to offer patients an urgent appointment with their named doctor although our team of doctors regularly communicate with each other regarding your care.
Non-urgent advice: Please Note
We will not complete any administrative forms during consultations. Please put your request in writing and we will usually get this done within 28 working days. We have fit note request forms in Reception, but we do advice to request fit notes on the E-consult service, these usually take 2 working days.
Routine or Regular GP Appointments
Appointments run throughout the day between 07:00-19:30.
Non-Attendance
Please note due to a 20% non attendance (DNA) rate for these appointments we are operating an 8 day release for these appointments. We very much value your support in helping us reduce these wasted appointments.
Follow Up Appointments
Please note if you have been asked by your doctor to book a follow up appointment, these operate under a different appointment system and can be booked by speaking to a member of Patient Services Team.
The easiest method is to book via the eConsult booking system, which can be used between 7am and 7pm Monday -Friday.
Although we do our best to make sure you see your regular doctor, you may be required to see another member of the doctor team. Please be rest assured, all our doctors have access to your full medical history and will discuss any issues with your regular doctor if this is necessary. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
If you are 16 or younger, you do not have to be seen with a parent or guardian.
Need help and can’t get an appointment?
If you are unable to get an appointment please speak to a member of Patient Services Team who can discuss your condition and advise on the best way forward and the best person to see. If you still need help or advice please email the Practice Manager directly at [email protected]
