Teaching and training
The practice hosts doctors going through a training programme with the local hospitals (Foundation Year Training). These doctors work in general practice for three to four months at a time to gain experience. In the past, they have found this placement extremely useful: to understand how general practice works, how patients are cared for outside hospitals, and how specialists and GPs can work better together. We also teach medical students on history taking and examination techniques.
All medical students and doctors in training are closely supervised by our GPs. Dr Richard Ma is the lead GP for Foundation Year training; Dr Yinkori Toun is the lead GP for medical student teaching.
All patients are invited to help train future generation of doctors. If you prefer not to be involved in these training programmes, please let us know.
