The Big Clean-Up
In the last survey, only 50% of patients were satisfied with how clean the surgery was. We have ordered a massive "spring clean" a few months ago and changed cleaning contracts to a new company. We hope you have noticed the difference. Please let us know if there is anything more we should be doing to make the environment more pleasant.
Telephone System
Last year, less than 50% of you were able to get through to speak to someone at the practice. We installed a new phone system but it was not suited to our needs. We are sorry to have let you down too. We are negotiating with new suppliers in order to improve this situation.
In the meantime, we are trying to make things better:
- we have increased the number of staff and time available to take your calls
- we have shortened the welcome message so you don't have to wait a long time for the phone to be answered
- we are making better use of the website to make and cancel appointments to free up phone lines
Please help us to help you. If you would like to make a routine appointment, please call after 10am (lines are less busy); if you would like to cancel an appointment, please click here.
The appointment system
You told us you are having difficulty getting an appointment. We have appointed a new female GP (Dr Kay Brennan) to work with us to increase the number of appointments available.
We are also testing a new system of telephone consultations for routine matters as another way of freeing up appointments. If this works, it may be a permanent feature.
